Cyfuture Empaneled by Government of India for MeghRaj 'GI Cloud' Project

Noida, November 23, 2016 : Cyfuture, a leading provider of data center and cloud services today announced that it has been empaneled provisionally as one of the cloud service providers by the Government of India for its ambitious MeghRaj 'GI Cloud' Project. The focus of this ICT project is to accelerate delivery of e-services in the country while optimizing ICT spending of the Government. This in turn is expected to ensure optimum utilization of the infrastructure and speed up the development and deployment of eGov applications.

With Project Meghraj, the Government of India aims to realize a comprehensive vision of a government private cloud environment available for use by central and state government departments, districts and municipalities to accelerate their ICT-enabled service improvements.

Some of the key components of this policy are - setting up of state and national clouds infrastructure; setting up an e-gov appstore for various government applications; empanelment of cloud service providers (CSPs); empanelment of cloud auditors; setting up of a cloud management office; setting up an eco-system for Cloud proliferation with policies, guidelines, templates, security norms, certification, business models for applications, tariff & revenue models for private sector Cloud services amongst others; awareness workshops, training programs and migration support for cloud adoption by departments; establishing a MeghRaj (GI-Cloud) service Directory and setting up of IT clouds by other government entities.
