Multimedia is a fusion of
multiple types of data sources used to acquire, process, transmit,
store, and utilize information. By appropriately utilizing multifarious
information sources, it is possible to get a whole that is greater than
sum of its parts. Multimedia researchers are developing techniques to
take information beyond traditional text-dominated documents in all
aspects of computing and communication.
The Special Interest
Group of ACM on Multimedia (commonly called SIG MM) is a place to
immerse you in this exciting and vibrant research area. This is a site
developed by active and energetic multimedia researchers for the benefit
